Verugal Green Organic is a producer group of small-scale farmers in northeastern Sri Lanka that wants to create a better world for future generations through organic agriculture. Crops include dry zone vegetables, peanuts, manioc, ginger, turmeric, banana, mango, cashew, and moringa. Group members save seeds and use dried leaves, plant residues, and animals waste and other locally sourced ingredients to produce their own compost, natural fertilizers, and pest repellents. Verugal Green Organic is verified under a local organic participatory guarantee system (PGS).
