Thambiliwatte is a family farm in northwestern Sri Lanka that is committed to a simple, natural lifestyle and sustainable farming methods. They cultivate a diverse range of crops including coconut, king coconut, four varieties of banana, passionfruit, lime, rose apple, guava, cashew, avocado, soursop, beli, wood apple, mango, paddy, cassava, sweet potato, finger millet, and seasonal legumes, vegetables, spices, and herbs. Thambiliwatte is supporting a farmer network for local women and working with neighboring farmers to transition to organic practices. In the future, they plan to offer ecotourism farm visits and home stays, festivals, and harvest promotions. Thambiliwatte is verified under a local organic participatory guarantee system (PGS).
