+2
The International Network of Engaged Buddhists (INEB) started in 1989 with a small gathering in Thailand and has expanded to include individuals and organizations across more than 25 countries in Asia, Europe, North and South America, Africa, and Australia. Members are brought together by shared values, spiritual friendship (kalyanamitra), and a commitment to integrating personal spiritual practice with social action for a healthy, just, and peaceful world. Key areas of strategic engagement include transformative learning, cultural diversity and inclusivity, social justice, economy, and ecology. INEB facilitates understanding, exchange, and collaboration across Buddhist traditions and works closely with social action groups from other religions. The Secretariat shares information within the network and facilitates conferences, training, and education programs that strengthen and support socially active individuals and groups.
