Human and Environment Development Organization (HEDO) is a Sri Lankan sustainable development organization working for a society where humans and the environment are in harmony. They have worked with smallholder rubber farmers on energy efficient rubber drying houses, biogas systems using rubber wastewater, transitioning to organic rubber cultivation, and supplemental livelihood activities like mushroom cultivation. HEDO markets black tea from small-scale forest gardens under the Green Lanka brand. The tea is grown using agroecological practices without synthetic fertilizers, weedicides, fungicides, and pesticides.
