Cooper & Co, a Jersey-based tea and coffee merchant, was founded in the 1800s and is one of the oldest locally owned companies remaining on the island. They roast and sell sustainably sourced coffee through multiple cafes, a retail outlet, and an online store. Their food service business supplies more than 300 offices, restaurants, cafes, and outlets across Jersey. Cooper & Co is a long-standing member of the Fairtrade Foundation and prioritizes Fairtrade certified suppliers and coffee from diversified small-scale farmers in places they have visited. In recent years, they have traveled to Peru, Bolivia, North Sumatra, Myanmar, and Honduras. The cafes are used by community organizations for campaigns, meetings, and events. They encourage people to bring their own refillable mugs, offer compostable takeaway packaging, and save their coffee grounds for a local community garden.
